What Working at a Corporate 9-5 Job Is Really Like
Are you looking into joining the 9-5 workforce?
If so, then this post will be very helpful for you.
Since, I’ve started my 9-5. I’ve learned so many things about corporate life. And I can honestly say that I love it. I love waking up and having somewhere to go. I love being a part of a team and being able to worktogether to solve a business’s problem. I just love the new found freedom my 9-5 offers.
You are often told that the 9-5 life is so restrictive and hostile due to to workplace politics and leadership but that’s a total myth ( depending on the company you work for, it could be true). It actually allows you to grow and learn new things at your own pace. It gives you a chance to apply the knowledge you acquired from your degree. It forces you get out of your comfort zone and interact with people from all different backgrounds.
Not saying that the 9-5 life is all good, there are some cons to the 9-5 life like waking up early, not having summer or winter breaks, and the transition from school life to office life can be very difficult. I would definitely say that the 9-5 life is not for everyone and can be restrictive for those who don’t like routine or structure.
The thing I like the most about the 9-5 life is that it provides me a place to challenge my mind, learn things that will better my career, and provides me with an escape from the crazy world we live in. I love being able to go to work and forget about the outside world and focus on the work at hand. It also helps that I love the work that I do and the people that I work with.
I would definitely advise you to work a 9-5 once in your lifetime because it does offer you a chance to see the work that goes into running a company. The skills you learn from a 9-5 will help you jumpstart the business that you’ve always dreamed of owning. I would also say that it gives you a chance to meet people that you would otherwise not meet or interact with.
I’ve had a great couple of weeks and I am so ready for the real work to begin. I am ready for the obstacles, the problems, the meetings, and the whole 9-5 enchilada. Are you?
P.S The 9-5 life depending on the company you work for can distort or glamorize your view on working a 9-5. I would highly advise you to work for a company that you love, that supports your development, and that will help you work towards a position that you desire. If your company isn’t doing this, definitely look for another job. You shouldn’t be working for a company that doesn’t value your worth.
P.S.S If you don’t like the 9-5 life, I would advise you to work hard at your passions and make your dreams come true. Take The Leap
