How I Juggle My 9-5, Blogging, and Youtube
I’m not that consistent with Youtube yet, but i’m trying to be. Other than that, I’ve been pretty consistent with uploading blog posts, interacting on social media, and making sure I go into work on time. I will say that I am doing better with coming up with a routine for myself.
The past month, I’ve been trying to figure out how i can use my time more wisely and incorporate the things I need to do. I’ve made a little schedule for myself, bought myself a planner, and starting thinking of other things I could possibly be doing. ( cough, cough working out, eating better, etc)
So I wanted to discuss the three things I’ve been doing that have helped me to juggle my 9-5 and hobbies.
Here they are:
Plan: I’ve literally started planning every detail of my day from my work breaks, to my after work hours, and weekends. I also have incorporated a happy planner and spreadsheet into my planning routine. I use excel spreadsheets to come up with my content for the month and to plan out posts for instagram, facebook, and twitter to market myself. I use my happy planner to plan out my daily activities and weekend festivities. I clean my apartment every week, I do laundry every week, and I need to post my content every week. So I use my planner to write down the best days I can get work done, the best day to do my self-care, and the best day to clean.
Execution - I usually take some time every work day to write out my tasks I need to get done during my work day and lunch hour. It helps to keep me productive and to know what I need do in order of importance. I also write down the order of things I need to do in my planner from the most important to the least important. I then do what I say I’m going to do. Some days are better than others but trust, I’ve at least accomplished my main priorities. So to me, that’s a big win
Make Changes - If you know that working out in the morning is going to be difficult than plan out your workout outfits before you leave for work so after work, it’s easier to get into the workout mindset. It’s also good to start doing things that will help your day go by easier such as washing the dishes every night, planning out your outfits the night before, and putting out your snacks in a hard to miss spot, If you do things that will take the pressure off of missing something or not being prepared, you will realize that you will sleep better knowing that you did a little task to make your next day better than the last.
While these are a couple of things that you can do to help balance your work life and hobbies. You can still find some other ways you can be productive such as taking advantage of lunch breaks. Don’t wait until the weekend to do all the things you need to do. You can do a little each day and know that you have the weekends to relax a little bit more than stressing about if you’ve written a post or uploaded/ filmed the video that needs to go up on Sunday.
Plan to succeed.
